Thanks Jan for hosting SOOC Sunday. I grabbed this shot in my doctor's office on Thursday this week. He's nuts about NewYork City and has the entire place decorated with shots of NYC.

Glen Baxter's work is traditional British humour from a traditionally British artist. He uses pastels, watercolours and ink, and creates his 'visual jokes' by observing life, believing real life to be far more absurd than fiction. His inspiration also comes from childhood heroes such as Humphrey Bogart, John Wayne, Doris Day, Roy of the Rovers and Boys’ Own.
I bought a box of Baxter's postcards and sent out many of them. But now they are collector's items. The one above is from the box I bought in Barnes and Noble.
The artist is creating this sculpture out of natural branches and other green/brown things from the botanical garden. The sculpture is made from wire and her dress is made from balsam branches. Her coat when finished will be made from small cattails which you can see next to her on the table. This is one of a few sculptures that will be placed in the garden through October.
