Monochrome Monday on Wednesday

Photobucket

The grave of a young girl in Calvary Cemetery, Woodside, N.Y. Unfortunately the statue has not stayed safe from vandalism.

Hi Mary!
Beautiful statue, it's a shame people vandalize these! Can't for the life of me figure out why they do that! Thanks for stopping by my place. Have a great day!

Maybe it was just a fallen tree branch?
Best wishes

Hi Mary, thanks for visiting NYC Daily Photo.

I live in Sunnyside, just blocks from where this photo was taken. :-) I definitely will have to visit the Calvary Cemetery when the weather turns warmer.

Love your photos of the statues.

Nice image, Mary.
I've been a bit preoccupied so I did not check your blog in case you had posted.

I would love to see some of the statuary in these photos myself. Isn't it amazing, some of the monuments people have erected. The most amazing one that I know of is Nureyev's in Paris. It is the most amazing mosaic.

She is still lovely, though. Wonderful photo, Mary. Great composition; nice light; unique subject.
