My World Tuesday

Do you have zip cars where you live?
It's like having your own car in the city—but with free gas and insurance. Okay, it's better than having your own car.

I've seen one around San Francisco and another in the Berkeley area. I think they are a great fixture to the city.

Teach, I must confess that it is only in the past few years that I have truly learned to appreciate the taste of the tomato :) Thanks for your honesty :D

Sounds like a great idea Mary. I looked it up online and Raleigh, where I live, doesn't have zip cars but Chapel Hill apparently does. I'm sort of surprised that if they have them here at all it isn't a triangle thing since so many people live in one place and work in another in terms of Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill which comprise the triangle area. Maybe they will be coming in the furture since they have them in one of our local towns.

None here, Mary. I think So. Cal. is too far-spread, we're worse than the triangle, where Carver lives.

What an incredible idea! I hope this catches on and expands to other areas!

They are in Washington, Baltimore and close in suburbs, but not as far out as Frederick. Great idea for people who use public transportation most of the time and need a car occasionally.

I've heard about the zip car, but not sure they are here in Houston where the car is king (unfortunately).

I wonder how this zip car thing works, is it like a bus service but with a small car instead, or like a taxi? We sure don't have anything called a zip car in NZ.
