After 72 years, the
Triborough Bridge — Robert Moses’s three spans connecting Manhattan, Queens and the Bronx — was formally renamed on Wednesday (Nov. 19, 2008) for
Robert F. Kennedy. At a ceremony in Astoria, Queens, Gov. David A. Paterson, Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, former President Bill Clinton, other dignitaries and members of the Kennedy family paid tribute to Kennedy, the New York senator and United States attorney general in his brother’s administration who was
assassinated 40 years ago during his candidacy for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Must've been a really quiet ceremony. (More likely I just wasn't paying attention.)
Wow, 40 years. Doesn't seem like it does it?
It is hard to believe that it was 40 years ago, I remember the day so vividly! Marvelous capture, Mary! Love the bridge against the lovely sky!
Enjoy your week!
Sylvia
Beautiful bridge to remember Robert Kennedy with.
That is a beautiful bridge. Great shot
Beautiful photo, Mary. I was just talking about Bobby Kennedy with a friend this weekend -- actually about Bobby, Jr and his dad.
I can't believe that it has been 40years. Great shot of the beautiful bridge.
I missed the renaming of the bridge, too. We don't get so much NYC news here in the midwest as we did when we were near DC.
I'm with Carver and Sylvia: How can it possibly have been 40 years and seem like just yesterday?
I love this shot of the bridge, looks huge.
Great shot of the bridge, Mary, with Manhattan in the background. Is that the Empire States Building just visible at the far left?
great shot. jfk is one of the more famous presidents of your country that we know. just a sad ending to his life.
A beautiful view, Mary.
I like the way you placed the skyline under the bridge. Nice picture. 40 years! WOW. Thanks for sharing.
