What do we have here? A lovely glass reflector ornament that I bought at Mo's Wren's Nest (no longer in business) a long time ago. In the top photo the ornament is hanging inside the window of my office behind the shade. I pull the shade down when the Westerly sun get's low in the sky. This effect happens when it is particularly sunny out.
Here's the reflector ornament seen when the shade is raised up. The tag quotes The Apocrypha:
"The light that cometh from her never goeth out."
The term Apocrypha is used with various meanings, including "hidden", "esoteric", "spurious", "of questionable authenticity", and "Christian texts that are not canonical".
The word is originally Greek (ἀπόκρυφα) and means "those having been hidden away". [1][original research?]
The general term is usually applied to the books that the Christian Church considered useful but not divinely inspired. (Wikipedia)The light being referred to here is the light of the lighthouse on the ornament.
The ornament was made by the St. Vincent de Paul Society.

Aurora glass suncatchers were one of the very first items I found when opening my store. I loved it that they are recycled glass, made in USA, and proceeds went to American charities. The lighthouse one was one of my favorites, so happy you have one and enjoy it so.
