It was an overcast day at Old Calvary Cemetery in Long Island City, Queens, N.Y. The New York Skyline didn't look very good so I added a little Film Grain to the photos using Photobucket Online.
I'll be going back in April when trees begin to fill out and flowers begin to bloom. I'll make sure the day is bright and fine so the skyline will be sharp and beautiful.
Here's a shot facing the other way (toward the East)
So that's My World for this Tuesday.

It looks a bit mystical this way with the grain added.
Enjoy your week.
Peace and quiet for those above and below the ground there. I love cemeteries.
It does look mystical and peaceful as Sandy says, both above and below ground! Couldn't agree more! Thanks for sharing a part of your world.
The grain makes it more interesting, I think, considering the cloudy day.
There's always something about a Grave yard that alures you to take a few shots.
Great shots.
There are some great cemeteries in NYC. I like the effect.
Great shots Mary, you captured them perfectly and I love the skyline way off in the distance, well done.
Have a great week!

yeah, mystical is the right way to describe it.
Wow....that grainy effect is just perfect for these cemetery scenes. Very cool!
Wow. That is COOL. All that death with all that life behind it is quite a juxtaposition.
Nice work!
The film grain effect is rather rainbow like.
Sure hope you received and like the earvines.
I love the effect the grain gave these piccies, very nice.
Mysterious looking, so much history there.
It must be a local custom to have those crosses carved to the stone sideways. Intruguing.
Hi Mary... the effect you used is great!
Inside Cambodia
So ghostly!
very interesting tombs.
An old graveyard and NYC - two of my favorite places to explore. Thanks!
A melancholy view of Queens and NYC. I was amazed at the size of the cemeteries in New York - both driving by and flying over. We have visited several north of the city where Marianne's relatives are buried.
Very realistic film grain effect! I was wondering if this was an old film photograph from your archives in fact.
The residents would be pleased if they could see this I think.
