This beautiful postcard is from a postcard book copyrighted 1993 by the Benedict Taschen Co. in Koln, Germany. It measures about 4-½” x 6-¼” and is in mint condition and unused.The card is from a poster by Alfons Mucha (1869-1939)

I am always ready to be bowled over by Art Nouveau and this is no exception. Gorgeous!
Beautiful design. And I love the costumes Sarah Bernhardt wore. I am an admirer. I visited an exhibition about her in Amsterdam and saw all the film fragments left of her movies. A friend of mine even wrote a great book about Sarah.
Alphonse Mucha made this poster for the stage version of La Dame aux Camelias. There is also a silent film version with Sarah Bernhardt, for which another designer made great posters, also in the art nouveau style.
