Round Robin Photo Challenges

For our Round Robin Photo Challenge we are to shoot "Land or Sea." I had no trouble making a choice.

Photobucket
I've always loved the sea or in this case, the ocean, the Atlantic Ocean.

On this early summer day the water was very chilly (on the south shore of Long Island, the sea doesn't warm up 'til late August). This young man with the bleached blonde hair standing there looking out to sea caught my eye so I raised my camera... I made sure to keep him to the righthand side of the picture so I'd get a good shot of the ocean waves.

For life and death are one, even as the river and the sea are one.

Excellent. Great composition here, and I like the contrast between the pale sea and sky and the dark clothes on the man. And yet the dark clothing also picks up the grayness of the ocean. Love it!

I love the composition! I believe he is really longing to get out in that water! Very nice photo, Mary!

Are you on Long Island? So am I!!

I think the south shore is best in fall and winter. You feel like you are on the edge of forever. You did a great job capturing that.

Nice photo of the young man and the ocean. He helps the ocean stay in perspective, with its rolling waves.
